To know the structure of the Earth, its composition, mineral and rocks, the external geological processes, the soil, and available natural resources.
Theory global objectives
To describe the structure of materials presents in earth surface To distinguish the main mineralogical and rock groups To know the external geological processes (weathering, erosion, transport and sedimentation). To study the soils, their genesis and classification To know the internal geological processes To know the natural resources

Practice global objectives
To use and interpret geological and topographical maps ¿ Laboratory practical lectures will allow to acquire knowledge about crystallography, minerals and rocks identification ¿ Fieldtrip lectures will help to the student to know the regional geological environment, geographical location exercises, and visual recognize of mineral and rocks
Practices
PART I. Practical lectures in room 1. Use and interpretation of topographical maps 2. Aerial photography and introduction to geological maps 3. Structures in geological maps I 4. Structures in geological maps II 5. Structures in geological maps III 6. Structures in geological maps IV
PART II. Laboratory lectures 1. Crystallography 2. Minerals 3. Rocks
PART III. Fieldtrips lectures
Teaching method
Oral lectures, with power point and videos support. The student will have material wrote by the professor with the lessons contents. In the fieldtrip lectures the student will have to apply the knowledge acquire in the classroom, and to solve practical exercises
Evaluation system
Exam will be in a test way, except practical part that will be evaluated through proposed exercises
