Business decision making is linked to the technical possibilities of technology as well as the economic viability of these new applications. Course contents complement the program's subject matter as they address project assessment, key for decision making in the implementation of new water and energy technologies, the study prior to any analysis of costs, and cost-benefit analysis.

Methodology and grading
- Case studies: Learning through the analysis of actual or simulated cases in order to interpret and resolve them by employing various alternative solution procedures.
- Lecture: Pass on knowledge and activate cognitive processes in students, encouraging their participation.
- Problem-based learning: Develop active learning strategies through problem solving that promote thinking, experimentation, and decision making in the student.
- Solving exercises and problems: Exercise, test, and apply previous knowledge through routine repetition.
- The evaluation of the subject will be done, considering the characteristics of the same and in order to encourage the active participation of the student throughout the course, combining the completion of questionnaires, tasks, exercises and problems, with a final written test.
The evaluation criteria for each of these activities will be as follows:
1.- Questionnaires that will deal with the subject taught in each didactic unit and subject, and whose weight on the final mark of the subject will be 40%.
For each teaching unit and subject a 10-question multiple-choice test (4 options) will be programmed, generally with a single true answer (if there is more than one correct answer, it will be notified at the start of the test). Every two wrong questions will subtract one good (ie, one evil will subtract one half from one correct). Unanswered do not score. All the questions will have the same value in the unit qualification of each test. As you progress in the subject will open deadline for the completion of the tests. The opening and closing period will be notified to the students. After the closing date, the test can not be performed. Each test can be performed only once. The test will be done on-line, and in the maximum time of completion that has been previously indicated. The total number of tests of this modality will be of 10 tests during the course. All the tests will have the same value for the qualification of this activity, so the overall mark of this part will be the result of the arithmetic mean of the 10 tests.
2.- Performing practical tasks, exercises, or problems, whose weight on the final grade of the subject will account for 40%.
For each didactic unit will be programmed a series of practical tasks, which would consist of the resolution of exercises, problems or other activities. Likewise, a delivery period will be indicated the same ones that must be fulfilled. Each practical assignment will be scored on 10 points. In the case that the teacher accepts the delivery of some task after the deadline, the score of this task may have a certain penalty (ranging from 20% to 30% over the initial 10). Exercises and tasks should be solved individually, with the originality and degree of contribution being rewarded, which will penalize those that are detected that are copied from external material or each other. The tasks proposed by block and thematic units will have the same value for the qualification of this activity, so the overall grade of this part will be that resulting from the arithmetic mean of the 4 tests.
3.- At the end of the academic period, an examination will be made on the theoretical and practical contents of the subject. The final exam will take place on the dates and official convocations set by the School Secretary (June and September). The test that will suppose up to 20% of the final mark of the subject, will consist in the resolution of a questionnaire type test multiple answer. This questionnaire will be 30 questions type test with four alternatives, one true only. Each incorrect answer will subtract the correct mean. Blank answers do not score. All questions will have the same value in the final grade.
To average between the various activities that make up the subject requires a minimum of 4 points out of 10 in each part (questionnaires, tasks, and final exam).
