This course is comprised of five teaching units. Its first two, Effects of Abiotic Stress & Assessment of Abiotic Stress and Recommendations, examine the effects and analytical parameters for assessing the intensity of stresses such as droughts, floods, salinity, boron, and heavy metals. Units 3 and 4, Methods of Nutrient Analysis & Nutritional Diagnosis and Recommendations, study methods for analyzing nutrients as well as methods of nutritional diagnosis and fertilization recommendations applied to a case study. Its final unit, Latest Advances and Future Lines of Investigation, provides a glimpse into the future of this discipline.
Those persons who have dealed university studies in the area of the agriculture, possess theoretical and practical knowledge for the managing of the nutrition of the fruit trees. Nevertheless, in general this knowledge centres on a few ideal conditions for the culture. Often, the fruit production has to remove I finish in not ideal conditions or of stress. Part of these situations of stress they are due to factors environmental physicist - chemist, it is the so called stress abiótico. The climate change and / or the human activity can be behind them. The excess of you go out in the soil, the ions potentially fitotóxicos of chlorine, sodium or boron, the flood, the drought or the accumulation of heavy metals, they are examples of this type of abiotic stress. Each of them has his own morphologic, physiological, biochemical and nutritional effects on the fruit trees. To know the analytical parameters that serve to value every type of stress abiótico and his degree of intensity, as well as the measures correctoras that can be adopted in every case, it becomes necessary to optimize the production and the quality of the fruit. Unfortunately, the bibliography not always can provide to us the information necessary for every concrete case. The accomplishment of experimental tests is, in many cases, suitable to obtain the above mentioned optimization of the production and / or the fruit quality. For it an investigative formation in this agricultural area, which allows to obtain scientific cost conclusions, is necessary.
