Planning, management, and technical direction of comprehensive information technology and communications projects. Development of multidisciplinary technology integration projects such as bioengineering, photovoltaic conversion, nanotechnology, and telemedicine.
Competencies and learning outcomes
- Ability to plan, calculate and design products, processes and facilities in all areas of telecommunications engineering.
- Capacity for project management and facilities for telecommunications systems, complying with current legislation, ensuring the quality of service.
- Ability to lead, plan and supervise multidisciplinary teams.
- Capacity for mathematical modeling, calculation and simulation technology centers and engineering companies, particularly in research, development and innovation in all areas related to the Telecommunications Engineering and related multidisciplinary fields.
- Capacity for the development, strategic planning, direction, coordination and technical and financial management of projects in all areas of the following criteria Telecommunications Engineering and environmental quality.
- Capacity for the overall direction, technical direction and project management research, development and innovation, and technology centers.
- Capacity for implementation, and management of manufacturing processes of electronic and telecommunications, with a guarantee of safety for people and goods, the final quality of the products and their approval.
- Ability to implement the acquired knowledge and resolve problems in new or unfamiliar contexts and broader mulitidisciplinares, being able to integrate knowledge.
- Ability to understand the ethical responsibility and professional ethics of the activity of the profession of telecommunications engineer.
- Ability to apply principles of economics and human resource management and projects as well as legislation, regulation and standardization of telecommunications.
- Ability to learn to communicate (oral and written) findings, and the knowledge and rationale underpinning these, to public-skilled and unskilled in a clear and unambiguous.
- Possess skills for self-directed and autonomous lifelong learning.
- Knowledge, understanding and ability to implement the necessary legislation in the exercise of the profession of Telecommunications Engineer.
- Capacity for the integration of technologies and systems of Telecommunications Engineering, as a general, and in broader contexts such as multidisciplinary in bioengineering, photovoltaic conversion, nanotechnology, telemedicine
- Capacity for the development, direction, coordination, and technical and financial management of projects: systems, networks, infrastructure and telecommunications services, including supervision and coordination of the subprojects of the work annexed; common telecommunication infrastructures in buildings or cores residential home projects including digital telecommunications infrastructure in transport and environment, with corresponding power supply facilities and assessment of electromagnetic emissions and electromagnetic compatibility.
Objectives (Learning outcomes)
- To know different activities where the acquired knowledge is applied
- To know some research examples in the telecommunications field
- To know different work positions for a Telecommunication Engineer.
Methodology and grading
- Case studies: Learning through the analysis of actual or simulated cases in order to interpret and resolve them by employing various alternative solution procedures.
- Cooperative learning: Develop active learning through cooperative working strategies among students and promote shared responsibility to reach group goals.
- Lecture: Pass on knowledge and activate cognitive processes in students, encouraging their participation.
- Problem-based learning: Develop active learning strategies through problem solving that promote thinking, experimentation, and decision making in the student.
- Project-based learning: Realization of a project to solve a problem, applying acquired learning and promoting abilities related to planning, design, performing activities, and reaching conclusions.
- Solving exercises and problems: Exercise, test, and apply previous knowledge through routine repetition.
- At the end each of the subjects in which the subject is divided students will have to perform a test on the issues discussed in it.
Students must complete a work on one of the subjects in which the subject is divided . Each student will perform an exhibition of work to teachers and other students of the subject.
The final grade for the course is divided into two parts:
- Note of the assessment test each of the topics of the course (50 % )
- Note from the memory and work exposure (50 % )
