This part of the program starts studying the composition and structure of nucleic acid from their simplest components, nucleotides, to the more complex organization led by histones and other proteins. Secondly, we will analyze the process of transferring information from DNA replication and transcription of RNA, to the translation to a specific protein. Finally, we address the different levels of regulation of gene expression and an overview of molecular biology techniques that have made possible many of the advances described in the units of this course
