Description

a) Know the most appropriate samples for the correct diagnosis of the main infectious processes; b) Know the diagnostic accuracy, indications and interpretation of the main microbiological tests used for the diagnosis of infectious diseases; c) Know the meaning of the microorganisms in insulation main clinical signs; d) To know the methods of in vitro study of antibiotic activity.

Objectives

To recognize and diagnose the main infectious syndromes and acquire the skills and methods of clinical work to guide the management of organospecific and systemic infectious processes
Know how to consult scientific literature, databases, documentary sources and quality information on infectious diseases
To know the main diagnostic tests used in infectious diseases, their indications, conditions of use and interpretation of their results, and to have supervised the "fast" microbiological techniques essential for the diagnosis of infectious diseases
Know how to recognize and diagnose infections caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites and acquire the skills and methods of clinical work to guide the management of autochthonous and imported infections produced by these microorganisms
To recognize and diagnose infections acquired in the community and acquire the skills and methods of clinical work to guide the management of organospecific and systemic infectious processes
To recognize and diagnose infections associated with alterations in the body's defensive systems and to acquire the skills and methods of clinical work to guide the management of infections associated with medical and surgical procedures and infections in immunocompromised patients
To know the main strategies of surveillance and control of the infection associated with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures («nosocomial» and ¿heath care associated¿)
