Professional interest

Theoretical foundations related to the kinematics and dynamics of multi-body systems and their application to mechanical components. Dynamic modeling of mechanical systems of N degrees of freedom and vibrational analysis of their behavior.

General competencies

Capacity for drafting, signing, and developing projects within the field of mechanical engineering aimed at construction, remodeling, repair, maintenance, demolition, manufacturing, installation, assembly and/or the operation of structures, mechanical equipment, energy installations, electrical and electronic installations, industrial installations and plants, and manufacturing and automation processes.
Ability to manage the kinds of engineering projects described in the preceding competency.
Knowledge about basic and technological material that enable learning new methods and theories, providing versatility for adapting to new situations.
Capacity to resolve problems with initiative, make decisions, creativity, critical reasoning, and to communicate and transmit knowledge, abilities, and skills within the field of mechanical engineering.
Ability to work within a multilingual and multidisciplinary environment.

Specific competencies

Understanding and mastery of the basic concepts about the general laws of mechanics, thermodynamics, fields, waves, electromagnetism, and their application towards solving engineering problems.
Knowledge about the principles of the theory of machines and mechanisms.
Understand and utilize the principles of the strength of materials.

Grading

The final evaluation of the course will be based on the following percentages: - 80% - Note written exam (theory and practice) - 20% - Script of the practices and proposed work Those students who need it may qualify for a final written examination in which the practical aspects of the subject are evaluated.
