There are two ways to pass the course:
OPTION 1: FINAL EXAM + LABORATORY REPORT
In the OPTION 1, the final mark is obtained by averaging the following items in their corresponding rates:
- Test: 80%
- Laboratory Report: 20%
When choosing this option, it is compulsory to achieve the following milestones:
- To attend to all the laboratory sessions (5 sessions).
- To carry out a deliverable final laboratory report (in groups of 2-3 people) related to the laboratory sessions contents. In the case of absences to practical sessions or the non-delivery of the final report, the student losses the possibility of evaluating the practical sessions through the report. These cases require to pass a practical exam to achieve the mark related to the laboratory lessons. The practical exam should be requested at least two weeks before the official scheduled date of the exam.
OPTION 2: FINAL EXAM
In the second option, the student is complied to perform a written test and the obtained mark will match the course mark.
The chosen evaluation option is valid for June, September and December evaluation periods. The students who join to practical sessions (groups) will be evaluated with the OPTION 1.
Regardless of the chosen evaluation option, the final test will consist of two parts.
Theory part
This part is worth 35% of the total mark and the students must answer 4-6 theoretical questions. The duration is 1 hour.
Problems part
This part is worth 65% of the total mark and the students have to solve 2-3 problems. The duration is 2.5-3 hours.
To succesfully pass the written test, the student must score in each part 40% of the top mark, i.e. 1.4 points out of 3.5 on the theory part and 2.6 out of 6.5 in the applied part. The final mark cannot exceeds 5 as long as one of the parts is failed.
The test will be performed with the aid of a conventional calculator. In the problems' part, the standard form delivered by the professor can be used. It can be found on campus.umh.es.
The students must identify themselves by means of a valid ID card.
