The different tests to be performed must be chosen from the following: (1) Multiple choice Test: Final Exam 40-60 multiple choice questions of theory with 4-5 possible answers, of which only one is correct. A correction index of 0.25 will be applied. The maximum duration of the examination will be 1 hour. (2) Test of short questions: the student intend 5-15 short questions of theoretical development to be carried out within a maximum of one hour. (3) Practical test in the computer lab consisting of the proposal of two practical problems from which the student must chose only one. Access to local and web programs required, databases and internet resources will be free. Maximum of three hours will be allowed. (4) Evaluation of reports from practical exercises: reports will be stored digitally on department web servers. Their evaluation will help teacher for a better a better assessment of the student work. The teacher will also assess the student's ability to understand the practical content through a multiple choice quiz. (5) Observation techniques: class attendance and student participation in tutorials, seminars and practical classes of problems and exercises will be taken into account by the teacher that will be settled on the final evaluation.
Attendance at practices will be particularly valued and can make it impossible to pass the course if assistance is not exceeded 50%. Delivering of practical exercises will be also considered positively. All tests of theory and practice will be rated out of 10 points. The student's final rate will be composed by 70% by the theory and 30% practical part. The theory mark will consist entirely of the evaluation of multiple-choice test. If a short-answer test is done, this will contribute 25% of the final grade, reducing the contribution of the multiple-choice test rate to 50%. In the theoretical part the student will have option to do a mid-term examination consisting of approximately half of the subject. The student will pass this examination only when rate is 6 and above. The marck of the practice (25%) will consist of 30% relating to the evaluationof the lab report and assistance to them, 35% for bioinformatics practices and 30% of the work or seminar. To compensate with the practical activities, the student need to have obtained a rate equal or superior to 4.0 in the theory test.
The mark of the practical activities will be saved a maximum of two academic years.
