Physical Conditioning and Health (GIAFIS) is an emergent research group formed by professionals who have multidisciplinary training in the physical activity, sports, and health sciences, and which recently spun off from the UMH Motor Behavior research group (GIACOM).
General aims of GIAFIS include contributing to improving the processes of practicing physical activity, either recreational or sporting, maintaining the health of the individual. In order to contribute to this aim, the GIAFIS group carries out its activities around the following priority lines of action:
1. Analyze responses and adaptations of the human organism to physical activity.
2. Study the effect of different physical activity programs on the human organism to physical exercise.
3. Analyze physical activity programs directed at different groups within the population.
4. Design new physical conditioning programs optimized to improve the health of different groups within the population.
