Description

This course describes action recommendation algorithms for residential settings, public places, and on roads during respiratory medical emergencies, in primary medical transport, the chain of survival, and modes and indications of mechanical ventilation.

Differentiate and distinguish between a medical urgency and a medical emergency.
Know and apply the severity scale of the most frequent disease entities in medical emergencies.

Know the guidelines of action for establishing the correct clinical diagnosis in the most frequent clinical emergency situations.

Know and perform basic medical intervention techniques and procedures in critical patients.
Know and apply action protocols for possible organ donation after asystole for care outside hospitals.

Learn to apply the guidelines to establish the correct diagnosis in most common respiratory emergencies.
Recognize patterns of recommendation of action in transportation and primary transportation of the patient with acute respiratory failure
Know the most common respiratory emergencies pathophysiologic basis
Manage acute decompensation of obstructive respiratory diseases
Meet the differential diagnosis of the major syndromes of respiratory pathology
Recognize and apply the guidelines before an acute pathology of the chest wall, pleura and mediastinum
Identify the guidelines before an acute breathing problems by physical agents (drowning, poisoning, injuries,...)

Case studies: Learning through the analysis of actual or simulated cases in order to interpret and resolve them by employing various alternative solution procedures.

Grading

- Continuous assessment (forums, seminars): 30% -Test exam: 70% A question with 4 answers, only one valid. Wrong answer - 0.25%. Not answered, not scored (0). The test exam will be online. DATE OF EXAM May 16, 2020 FORUM Opening dates: from April 7 to 8, 2020 REMEDIAL SUBJECTS: Remedial for the subjects of the first and second semester will be on September 3, 2020. A test exam or a task according to the subjects.
