The Faculty of Social and Legal Sciences of Orihuela offers two interrelated undergraduate programs: Business Administration and Management, and Political Science and Public Administration. The UMH has extensive experience in these areas, and these programs have been taught since 1999. This university division is located in the center of Orihuela, and it combines an environment rich in culture and traditions with modern facilities in addition to a good transportation network that affords easy accessibility.
Its faculty members come from 5 university departments (Economics and Financial Studies, Health Psychology, Legal Science, Statistics, Mathematics and Informatics, and Social and Human Sciences). Comprising this division are around 48 full-time faculty members and 41 who are part-time, and it combines two complementary profiles, teachers who work professionally in the areas of the subjects they teach, and teachers who are dedicated to research. This combination of teaching faculty means that students acquire practical and analytical skills that will facilitate their labor market insertion. Besides the professional qualifications of its faculty members, the teaching quality is based on the number of students per classroom, which, is around 60, means that the student-professor relationship is close and fluid. Students also have the opportunity to direct their professional career towards research via various doctoral programs organized within the five departments involved.
