Virtual Desktops for Education (open story in a new window)
The Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) has launched its new Virtual Desktops for Education platform, where university students and faculty can access a virtual cloud computer via their Authenticated Access. This project began with the purchase of virtualization computer infrastructure (Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, or VDI) and UDS Enterprise software to display the desktops. When users connect, they gain access to different types of desktops, which vary depending upon the UMH faculty or school responsible for each degree program.

Mathematics for predicting the cost of electricity, diabetes in low-income areas, plus patenting Covid-19 vaccines. These are some of the topics covered in issue 29 of Sapiens, the UMH scientific journal. This publication is produced by the Service of Communication at the UMH, which is part of the Vice Rectorate for Student Affairs and Coordination.
Winter Courses Offer (open story in a new window)
Musical Journalism, Introduction to Nanobiotechnology, plus Techniques for Self-Control, Stress Management, Relaxation, Concentration and Vitality are some of the 55 Winter Courses being offered by the Miguel Hernández University of Elche (UMH) this year. The Winter Courses are to be given between December and May 2021 and, due to Covid-19, most are going to be given in online formats, except when necessary, and those that have traditionally been given within a classroom are also adapting to virtual settings.
